DIFERENTIAL COMPONENT

DIFERENTIAL

Automotif Engine         Differential or often known by the name of the component on the vehicle axle is four or more wheels that serves to continue the engine power to the axle. Just to remind you, that the wheels are all derived from the combustion process that occurs in the combustion chamber. The combustion process is then going to drive the piston to move up and down. Then the up and down motion of the piston will be forwarded to rotate the crankshaft. Crankshaft rotary motion will be forwarded to rotate the flywheel / flywheel. Round flywheel will be forwarded to rotate the transmission rotating clutch is then forwarded to the coupling and to the axle. This round will continue axle to axle and axle will spin the wheel, so that the vehicle can run. So can you remember back in the order of transfer of power and the rotation of the engine to the wheels, so that the vehicle or car can run.

Differential function is:

  1. Delivering and split power transmission to the final drive of the left and right
  2. Distinguishing rounds left and right wheels when the machine turns
  3. Divide equally large transmission torque from the final drive to the left and right final drive

The types of differential that is used, among others:
Standard Differential.
No-SPIN Differential, used in wheel loader (optional), integrated tool carrier, articulated trucks, wheel tractor, soil compactor, landfill compactors and backhoe loader and a replacement for standard differential.
Limited Slip Differential, used in medium wheel loader (optional), some large wheel loaders and articulated truck and a replacement for standard differential.
Differential Lock, typically used on motor graders.

Differential standard components are:
1. Differential Case
Differential case assembly is where the components of the differential group. The bevel ring gear bolts with case assembly. Case spider assembly will rotate shaft and pinion gear which intersect with the side gear to rotate the sun shaft final drive.

2. Pinion Gear
Pinion gear or gear spider moves and evolves following the round rotating shaft spider and transfer power from the differential case to the side and then to the sun gear shaft. Pinion gear will rotate rotating (spinning on its axis) only at the time of turn or slip, so that rotation left and right wheels will be different.

Spider shaft is driven by the differential case and pinion gear as a place holder.




4. Side Gear
The gear-side spline shaft to the sun gear. Pinion gear will move the gear side so that the sun gear shaft will rotate.

Side Gear

Automotif Engine          Differential type is not efficient when the machine slip. To overcome this (machine slip at the time of entry sludge) in Off Highway Truck and on some types of Wheel Loader big, it is equipped with Traction Control System (TCS) (previously called Automatic Electronic Traction Aid or (AETA). This system will work automatically when the machine slip.

How it works Differential
  • At the time of straight road.
During the vehicle running straight, the rear axle wheels will be rotated by the drive pinion through a differential ring gear case, wheels differential gear pinion shaft, wheel differential pinion gears, gear side gear does not rotate, still brought into the round ring gear. thus rounds on the same left and right wheels.
  • when turning.
When the vehicle is turning left prisoners left wheel is greater than the right wheels. If the differential case rotates together with the ring gear, the pinion will rotate on its axis and also the driving side gear surround left, so round the right hand side gear increases, which is the number of rounds gear side of which is 2 times round the ring gear. It can be said that the average round two gears is proportional to the rotation ring gear.

STEP RELEASE
1. Remove the cap and bearing on the Axel housing using a socket wrench 27
2. Remove Differential Case of Axel housing
3. Remove Differential Case using socket wrench 21
4. Remove from the group Differential case Differential
5. Remove the pinion gear, spider shaft, and the gear side of the bevel gear
6. Remove the bevel gear Differential Case with socket wrench 19
7. Remove the screw on the bevel gear with a key socket 22
8. Remove the bevel pinion shaft of the differential home with socket wrench 19

STEP INSPECTION / ANALYSIS

1. Wear check on the bevel gear
Check the wear on the bevel gear shaft. If the bevel gear shaft gear is worn, it should be replaced

2. Check the wear on the gear side
Check the wear on the gear side. If the gear on the side is worn out, should be replaced

3. Check the wear on the bevel gear shaft / Drive Pinion
Check the wear on the bevel gear shaft. If the bevel gear shaft gear is worn, it should be replaced

4. Checking taper on spider shaft
Check on the spider shaft taper. If the spider has bent shafts, should be replaced

5. Check the wear on the pinion gear
Check the wear on the pinion gear. When the pinion gear is worn, should be replaced

6. Check the wear on the pinion gear.
When the pinion gear is worn, should be replaced immediately.

INSTALLATION STEPS

1. Install the bevel gear shaft of the axle housing with socket wrench 19
2. Replace the screws on the bevel gear with a key socket 22
3. Replace the bevel gear Differential Case with socket wrench 19
4. Raft pinion gear, spider shaft and side gear into the case on the bevel gear differential
5. Enter the group into Differential Differential case
6. Install Differential Case using socket wrench 21
7. Enter into Differential Differential Case Cage
8. Replace the cap and bearing axle housing using a socket wrench Axel 27

INSTALLATION STEPS

1. Install the bevel gear shaft of the axle housing with socket wrench 19
2. Replace the screws on the bevel gear with a key socket 22
3. Replace the bevel gear Differential Case with socket wrench 19
4. Raft pinion gear, spider shaft and side gear into the case on the bevel gear differential
5. Enter the group into Differential Differential case
6. Install Differential Case using socket wrench 21
7. Enter into Differential Differential Case Cage
8. Replace the cap and bearing axle housing using a socket wrench Axel 27
